Mayabeque, Cuba: Getting involved in obtaining goat's milk, through small cattle, is the main task carried out by Elio Montero Pérez, a farmer from the municipality of Batabanó, dedicated to the breeding of these animals.

Together with his wife, Elio seeks not only to provide the State with the amount of meat stipulated through the productive form he represents, but also has other functions that will help him achieve a greater impulse.

Montero Perez said that the milk from his goats will benefit those children with respiratory problems due to the various properties of the liquid, as well as being good at raising hemoglobin levels.

With a mixed herd that has 105 sheeps and goats, this independent producer commented that a lot of time has to be dedicated to this kind of cattle, due to the fragility of its health, where feeding plays an important role.
