Mayabeque, Cuba: The Aqueduct and Sewer Company of this province undertakes an investment process that exceeds 10 million pesos.

The purpose is to increase the availability of water to the population, as well as to hospitals, schools and other sectors, achieving the rational and sustainable use of water.

The director of the entity, Osvaldo García Caballero, explained that the work takes place in a space that covers 10 kilometers. In this route are located the pumping station of the wells located in the vicinity of the Institute of Animal Science, the town of Ayala and the Finca Cruz.

According to the manager, three municipalities of Mayabeque are above 90 percent of repairs of the main conductors: Santa Cruz del Norte, Jaruco and Güines. However, several areas of these territories do not receive the service due to the lack of pumps capable of driving the liquid to the high areas, so efforts are made for the purchase these equipment, while, these areas receive water alternately through the pipe system.
