Mayabeque, Cuba: Encouraging producers to use biological means for the healthy development of crops is one of the purposes of the Entomopathogenic and Entomophagous Reproductive Center (CREE) of Batabanó, which seeks strategies to guide and train farmers.

The general director, Jorge Hernández, explained that it is important to know the function of each of the products sold by the unit, as well as its use in specific crops.

The development of workshops, educational talks and the implementation of a dissemination project have been the main actions in recent times and have attracted the interest of Mayabeque’s farmers who request the center's bio products.

Today they are carrying out a repair in the unit, which has 4 rooms for growth, a planting room, a sterilization room and an office.

The CREE in Batabanó holds the status of National Reference Center of urban and sub-urban agriculture for the quality of its productions and the results of the specialized group that meets the standards and laboratory procedures in each day.
