Mayabeque, Cuba: Students and professors of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Mayabeque paid tribute to the 148th anniversary of the execution of the eight medical students, a crime perpetrated by Spanish colonialism.

José Martí Park, in Güines, was the seat of the provincial act where future doctors reaffirmed their convictions and demonstrated the respect of Cubans towards our martyrs.

This was confirmed by the president of the University Student Federation of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Mayabeque, Maikel Milián Sánchez.

Also on behalf of the 2 thousand 87 medical students of Mayabeque raised their voices for the continuity of the Revolution and for bringing their profession to the most disadvantaged in the world: Lorena Piloto Arencibia and Amanda Milagros Páez.

Present at the activity for the 148th anniversary of the execution of the 8 medical students were the first secretary of the Party in Mayabeque, Yanina de la Nuez Aclich, the first secretary of the Young Communist League in the province, Hamlet Valdés Díaz, among other officials of the Party and the government in the locality.
