Mayabeque, Cuba_ The Casa de la Decima of Mayabeque will have its new headquarters at the Mayabeque movie, cultural institution that treasures a rich history in Güines.
According to Lázaro Palenzuela, director of the center that promotes peasant traditions in the young province, the inauguration is scheduled for May 17, at 6 pm, in honor of the 56th anniversary of the creation of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP).
These days the final touches are given to the installation, equipped with modern technology to guarantee the air conditioning of its areas and the equipment of the recording studio, thanks to a collaboration agreement that for some years this entity has maintained with the Association of Colombian Troubadours, ASTROCOL.
Lázaro Palenzuela, Director of Casa de la Decima in Mayabeque, said that the institution will also have a specialized mini-library with a showroom for exhibitions of visual arts and the patio is designed to hold gatherings and book presentations.
This multi functionality of the center will also strengthen the link between the decima and the different manifestations of art, including theater, humor and music, in its various expressions, according to Lázaro Palenzuela.
As part of the initiatives planned for the inauguration of the Casa de la Decima, on May 17, in the Mayabeque movie-theater lobby will be unveil a sculpture of Francisco Riverón Hernández, a work conceived by Octavio Collado, President of the Association of Artisans Artists of Cuba in the demarcation.
