Mayabeque, Cuba_ San Nicolas’ athlete Anailis Dorvigní competes today in the inaugural day of the Pan American Judo Championship, based this weekend at the Convention Center of the Hotel Hard Rock Café, in the Panamanian capital.
According to the program, the medals are disputed in four women's categories, the Cubans who will climb the tatami are: Vanessa Godinez, 48 kilograms, Melissa Hurtado, in the 52, Mayabeque’s national champion, Anailis Dorvigní and Aliuska Ojeda, in the 57 and the Olympic Mariset Espinosa, 63 kilos.
Meanwhile the men to compete in search of the first medals, Yandry Torres in 60, Osniel Solís in 66 and also Olympic in Rio 2016, Magdiel Estrada in the 73 kilograms.
The seven remaining categories are schedule for tomorrow and Cuba will be represented by the world medalist of the 90 kilos, Jose Armenteros, and the fifth Olympic place in Rio, Alex Garcia, in more than 100.
The continental competition will involve 200 judokas, 115 men and 85 women, from 22 countries, and a team that will represent the international federation, as reported in the technical meeting of the contest.
