Mayabeque, Cuba_ Yanoy Morejón Mesa, from the Agrarian University of Havana, received the award from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) for the scientific trajectory carried out in the demarcation.
Elba Luisa Pita Reina, head of the section in the Mayabeque Provincial Administration, highlighted the merits of Yanoy and the work of the Center for Agricultural Mechanization (CEMA), to which he belongs.
CITMA in the territory works on 10 national projects related to animal and plant health, human food production, climate change, biological diversity, risk and disease prevention in vulnerable groups of the population, as well as natural and traditional medicine.
The Academy of Sciences of Cuba granted this year seven prizes to presentations of the research centers of the province.
Mayabeque has a plan of action to celebrate the World Environment Day, including morning meetings, advertisements, beauty and sanitation voluntary work in institutions and competitions to preserve the planet in environmental classrooms.
