Mayabeque, Cuba_ The municipalities of Batabanó and Quivicán, in Mayabeque, remember today the arrival, by sea, of the assailants to the Moncada Barracks, after their exit from the Presidio Modelo, Radio Reloj publishes.

On the morning of May 16, 1955, the Moncadistas arrived on the ship El Pinero, freed by the general amnesty given by the tyrant Batista, thanks to the strong pressure of the Cuban people.

That day is remembered today with a political-cultural gala in front of the train stations of both territories.

Pioneers and residents of Surgidero de Batabanó and San Felipe recall the minutes on the railroad, where Fidel Castro Ruz and his companions were received with unconditional support for the just cause of the Cuban Revolution.
