Mayabeque, Cuba_ The popular exercise of preparedness in case of disasters, Meteoro 2017, will take place this Saturday 20 and Sunday May 21 in the capital of Mayabeque, as in the whole country.

According to Radio Camoa, the objective of the event is to strengthen the capacities of San Jose de las Lajas, to face earthquakes and hurricanes of great intensity, droughts of remarkable magnitude and events of disasters of sanitary origin.

In the first day, the leadership bodies and commands at all levels will held meetings to analyze dangers existing in the vulnerable zones of the territory, as well as the functioning of early warning systems.

The work collectives of the locality will also carry out general sanitation tasks, cleaning of roofs and patios, gardening, elimination of micro landfills, and autofocals, as part of the activities of the Antivectorial Campaign.

In the National Center for Agricultural Health (CENSA), the workers will carry out first-aid training in cases of catastrophe with Health specialists, besides highlighting what to do before health and natural disasters.

In the districts circumscriptions the neighbors will undertake actions of cleaning of wastelands and culverts, garbage collection, pruning of trees, elimination of microvertederos and individually in each one of the households will realize autofocales to avoid the attack of Aedes Aegypti, cause of diseases, especially in the current rainy season.
