The jury selected the best exponents in the modalities of tunes, pie forzado, controversies, and music instruments, illustrated and written decima.
The students Antony Maury and Brenda MartÃn Bravo from the Jesus Suarez Camero workshop at Genaro de la Rosa Culture House in San José de las Lajas received prizes in the specialties of pie Forzado and Tonadas respectively.
Likewise they chose the Flower of Mayabeque among the 11 candidates nominated by each locality of the demarcation.
For the selection of the competitors, not only the beauty was taken into consideration, but also the knowledge about the musical genre, traditions, agricultural works, main productions, among other subjects was considered.
Ailén Collado, from Güines, was the winner and she will represent the province in the National contest.
Modesto Abreu, President of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), presented awards to producers, cooperatives and municipalities in food production, livestock and labor in the sector.
Marianela RodrÃguez González, Head of the Department of Culture Houses in the territory, qualified the 2017 contest as improving in terms of attendance, quality in the works presented at the theoretical event, organization and exchange with the invited countries.
