Mayabeque, Cuba_ Mayabeque's most prominent producers shared their experiences during the provincial meeting of varieties, seeds and plant health of the sugarcane, based in Quivicán, Mayabeque newspaper reports.

The technicians, belonging to the Sugar Cane Experiment Station, gathered at the Basic Unit for Cooperative Production (UBPC) Pablo Noriega, in Quivicán.

At the meeting, they advocated for strengthening technological discipline in the seed banks.

Agricultural Engineer Osmani Esteban Cuello Marrero, director of the UEB Producer Attention Unit Boris Luis Santa Coloma, from Madruga, emphasized the need to carry out a feasibility study for greater use of early maturing varieties.

Mayabeque owns more than 50 units producing of the grass. The application of good practices allows the province to increase by 33 percent the volume available for milling.
