Mayabeque, Cuba__ Actions in favor of hygiene are being carried out since the very first days of this month in San Jose de las Lajas, capital of Mayabeque, as part of the actions to celebrate the World Environment Day, next May 5th, Radio Camoa reports.
According to declarations of Raquel Sosa Pérez, head of the section of the CITMA in the locality, educational and investigation centers, and industries of this city have carried out activities of sanitation and they have also made several videos on the Local Development Projects linked with The National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, INCA with Tele Mayabeque.
This action plan included a Garbanzo Fair at Finca El Mulato, belonging to the Paco Cabrera Credit and Services Cooperative, with the participation of members of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), CCS producers of the municipality, the INCA, students of the last year of the technical race of Agronomy and representatives of the Agriculture and the Government.
Sosa Pérez, also coordinator of the local development projects of this city, specified as tasks fulfilled in the demarcation the cutting of trees in the Aljibe and Ronera San José companies, the cleaning of drainage and sewerage in the Popular Council Zaragoza and Pio Pio Neighborhood.
Currently, 13 reforestation projects are being implemented in the protected area of Flora and Fauna, the Rancho Domingo García Frías, the Volcano Community. In addition, a Medicinal Plants Workshop was held with students from the Víctor Mestre Primary School and the territory keeps the collection of solid waste.
San José de las Lajas will celebrate the municipal act for World Environment Day on June 3 in areas of the Boulevard with the presence of students of all teachings, appointment that will include the awards of the contents convened to commemorate this day.
