Mayabeque_ Viet Nam’s Defense Minister Ngo Xuan Lich honored Cuban independence heroes Antonio Maceo and Francisco Gómez at the El Cacahual Mausoleum, located in the province, where their remains rest, Granma newspaper's digital portal reports.

The visitor, received by the First Deputy Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Army Corps General Álvaro López, highlighted his country's ties with Cuba and expressed interest in strengthening them.

During his stay on the Island, the head of Defense will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart give lectures in military schools and will tour military units in the Caribbean nation.

Havana and Hanoi keep contacts between high-level delegations to maintain bilateral ties, which are described as excellent by both sides.
