Mayabeque, Cuba__ The Mayabeque Red Cross runs a group of actions to face the development and consequences of hurricanes, which affect the Caribbean area from June 1 to November 30.

The main activities of this entity are related to the implementation of first aid, confrontation with structural landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis and heavy rains, which may be present in the period.

Glendis Ferras Palacios, specialist of the Red Cross of Mayabeque, reported that there will be greater incidence of activities in the municipalities of Güines, Madruga, Santa Cruz del Norte, San Nicolás and Jaruco, where they are already giving lectures, practical and theoretical classes, educative lectures and training in the use of auxiliary means.

The exchange with evacuation groups of the military sectors of each territory, said the official, is part of this provincial preventive program, which will refer to international humanitarian law, while public health specialists of the municipalities, will make demonstrations about the epidemiological management.
