Mayabeque, Cuba_ With the purpose of promoting a spirit of joy before the individual effort, this Saturday, June 17 will take place in San Jose de las Lajas, as in the rest of the country the Race for the Olympic Day, a traditional national holiday, Radio Camoa reports.
In this thirtieth edition the start will be given at ten o'clock in the morning, simultaneously with the traditional announcement of Radio Reloj, in the Marabana-Maracuba circuits of the three sports complexes of Mayabeque’s capital with the leading role of pioneers of educational centers, children from the sports areas, seniors and workers.
The age categories called for this mini marathon are 12 to 16 years, 17 to 35 years, Master A: from 36 to 45 years, Master B: from 46 to 55 years, Master C: Over 55 years, as well as corridors of The ANCI, ANSOC, ACLIFIM and High Performance, the particularity this year is the incorporation of a new category: majors of 71 years.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) established the Olympic Day on June 23, 1987. In the Greater of the Antilles this commemoration includes a varied program of recreational and physical activities that allow the use of free time in a useful and healthy way.
