Moscow_ Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed today the United States for the beginning of a new arms race, since he decided unilaterally to leave the Anti-missile Defense Treaty (DAM for its Spanish initials), Prensa Latina reports.

If we are going to talk about an arms race, it started precisely when Washington left the DAM, Putin told US television network NBC, according to an official report.

The Russian leader indicated that his country successfully tested new strategic weapons systems and admitted that some of them still have to be improved, although others are ready to be used.

Yesterday he showed before the Federal Assembly, the new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, which has more than a dozen self-propelled nuclear warheads and independent remote control vector.

The nuclear warheads can fly tens of kilometers at supersonic speed, which makes them unbeatable with the anti-missile systems existing now in the world.

Putin confirmed the existence of a submarine-drone, powered by nuclear energy, with an intercontinental range of action and a speed several times greater than the existing submersibles at the moment, as well as a torpedo with similar characteristics.

In addition, the Russian leader referred to a new rocket-block, propeled by nuclear energy, which can fly independently, without limits for its far reaching, in a range from near the Earth's surface to heights close to the stratosphere.

For this, it works with a principle similar to that of a meteorite, because it can reach a surface on its roof of more than one thousand degrees centigrade. In this are used new types of materials, the Russian president explained.

Other armaments, such as the Kinzhal system, which can be launched from an airplane with a route that changes vector in the course, without distance limit for its route, in addition to new laser cannon, whose operation, was also shown in a video, were presented.

Putin clarified that none of these weapons violate any agreement on arms control or disarmament signed by Russia.
