Santiago_ Chilean President Michelle Bachelet will conclude her second term in office with a high popularity rate, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

Described by some as a natural candidate to major posts in the United Nations, the president kept the pace of the reforms she promised and made unprecedented changes in Chile's history, although the center-left sectors were not satisfied with her performance in office and she won the absolute enmity from the center-right opposition.

A citizens' organization announced a meeting to honor the president on March 11, at 08:00 hours, local time, on the day when she will hand over the presidency to her successor, the conservative politician Sebastián Piñera.

The group published a manifesto, entitled #GraciasPresidenta, on its website.

The group noted the progress made, and valued the willingness to face 'with strength and nobility, those problems that have historically kept Chile away from the path to justice and solidarity'.

They also applauded the 'unprecedented Constituent Process that started during this government' for a Magna Carta in democracy.
