Caracas_ The Minister for Defense, Vladimir Padrino, ratified today the unit of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) before the constant incitements to the division of this armed institution in order to promote a coup d'etat in Venezuela, Prensa Latina reports.
During a ceremony held at the Paseo de los Próceres, in Caracas, Padrino warned that his country does not have space for a civil war, despite the efforts of oligarchic sectors and foreign governments to propitiate that scenario.
The Venezuelan authorities reiterated in recent days the rejection of the instigating policy of the US government through senior diplomatic officials who openly called on the FANB to take control of the country and depose President Nicolás Maduro.
The holder recalled that since 2017 the onslaught in the economic field against the Venezuelan people raised its levels of aggressiveness, through the indiscriminate increase in prices to provoke discontent in the people and promote the destabilization of the country.
In this sense, Padrino meant that the FANB works on the design and implementation of a special plan joint with Venezuelan society through the civic-military alliance, to confront the destabilizing actions framed in the so-called economic war.
Among those measures, the fight against smuggling and the extraction of paper money, food, medicines, fuel, among other essential goods, through the border with Colombia stand out.
Also, the Minister for Defense expressed his support for the call extended to the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations to participate as observers in the elections of May 20 next.
He stressed that the Strategic Operational Command of the FANB works together with the National Electoral Council for the implementation of the Plan República, aimed at preserving the security of the population during the elections and ensuring the successful development of the process.
