La Paz_ President Evo Morales arrived in the country today after leading the second round of the oral arguments of the maritime demand filed against Chile at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Prensa Latina publishes.Â
Morales traveled the Dutch city to accompany the Bolivian reply in the oral phase of the maritime claim against Chile at the ICJ.
After his arrival to The Hague on Sunday, he led a working meeting of the national and international legal team in which details of the reply presented yesterday at the Peace Palace in The Hague were arranged.
The head of State asked for patience to all his countrymen, because the force of reason and truth accompany the Bolivian demand to return to the sea with sovereignty.
Bolivia presented the claim at the ICJ in 2013, after Chile maintained a policy of procrastination for more than one century regarding the settlement of the maritime dispute.
The Andean Amazon country lost a 400-kilometer coastline after the Chilean military invasion in 1879, and another 120,000 square kilometers of sovereign territory rich in natural resources.
