Moscow_ Russian President Vladimir Putin promised today the due punishment to those responsible for the fire in a mall of Kemerovo, which led 64 casualties, and decreed national mourning for tomorrow, Prensa Latina reports. Â
After an urgent meeting with government members and the governor of the Kemerovo region, Aman Tuleev, Putin indicated that the tragedy happened due to criminal irresponsibility.
The head of the Committee of Russian Researchs Alexander Bastrikin indicated in the meeting with Putin that the doors of at least three cinema rooms in the four floor were blocked. At explaining to the President the reasons of such measure, Bastrikin stressed that the most likely one was to prevent the entry of youngsters without ticket from the aforementioned places of entertainment, whose ceiling collapsed since the first moments of the accident.
Local mass media denounced that the news counterfeiter on Internet, the Ukranian Evgueni Volnov, tagged a video in you tube for which was suggested that the true figure of fatal victims was close to 300.
Therefore, some 2,000 people gathered together in a spontaneous protest in Kemerovo city, but after verifying a group of citizen initiative that official data were true, the action concluded, highlighted the capital television.
Tuleev, in the midst of the relatives' pain of the deceased and some 50 hospitalized, the opposition seized the opportunity to pass by the houses and the companies near the disaster to instigate them to speak out against authorities.
So far, it is known that at least four people were arrested, among them a security guard, suspect of trying to unplug the alarm for cases of fire, after knowing the start of the fire.
In the labors to douse the flames worked some 660 firefighters, none of them were registered as victims although the fire extended some 1,600 square meters and the roof of the facility fully collapsed.
