Rio de Janeiro_ For the defense of democracy and in support of former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the Brazilian left met in Rio de Janeiro, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.  

The event was attended by representatives of social movements, intellectuals, artists and left-wing political parties, where in addition to the support for Lula, it was demanded justice for Marielle Franco and Anderson Gomes, recently assassinated.

The act was presided over by the presidential candidate of the Communist Party of Brazil, Manuela D'Ávila, the state deputy of the Socialism Freedom Party, Marcelo Freixo and former President Lula.

This act is the last scheduled before the Judgment of your habeas Corpus in the Supreme Federal Court.

"I'm not here for the right to be a candidate, I want them to stop lying, to return my innocence, I want them to vote the merit of my process, I'm not above the law, I have to be treated like any citizen.  "I want them to tell the truth about me", Lula reiterated.

The former president said in reference to the media as O Globo that "Brazilian society was anesthetized and was the victim of a process of lies, on every page of newspaper and magazine, on radio and television. (...) If the Globe had spoken of Marielle, in life, half of what she spoke in death, maybe she was still here, "he added.
