Washington_ The US Congress condemned the attacks and bombings authorized by President Donald Trump against three cities in Syria, in response to the alleged chemical weapons attack on Saturday in the Syrian city of Duma, the Granma newspaper reported.

The North American Parliament asserted that the bombings are illegal because they do not have the necessary and pertinent approval of the Government, which is in charge of authorizing any execution of a military action.

"It is the Congress, not the president (...) who has the power to authorize military action (...) By illegally bombing Syria, the president has once again denied the American people any supervision or accountability in this endless war ", Republican congresswoman Barbara Lee said.

On the other hand the parliamentarian Justin Amash indicated that the attacks are unconstitutional, illegal and reckless.

Likewise, 88 Republican and Democratic legislators exhorted Trump to abstain from attacking Syria, since there is no direct threat against the United States, besides not having concrete evidence of the chemical attack.
