Tehran_ Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Yavad Zarif reiterated his call to create a forum for dialogue in the Persian Gulf that guarantees cooperation, security and peace, Prensa Latina reports.
In a message on the occasion of the National Day of the Persian Gulf, quoted today by the local press, Zarif considered that this area coexisted peacefully for thousands of years, it is a historical fact and a valuable heritage of our ancestors, he said.
Zarif reiterated once again the idea of forming a dialogue forum through which cooperation and trust building prevail.
The National Day of the Persian Gulf marks the date when, in 1622, the Persians expelled the Portuguese colonial forces from the Strait of Hormuz.
