Windhoek_ Netumbo Nandi-Ndaiwah, Namibia’s Foreign Affair and Cooperation Minister, reaffirmed the call to the United States to eliminate the blockade against Cuba, main aspect of disagreement in the relations between the two countries, the website of Juventud Rebelde’s newspaper reports.
According to Nandi-Ndaiwah, since its independence, Namibia has been persistent and consistent in demanding the end of the economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba. “That is the first visit of a United States President in 88 years. We hope it will bring the ending of the blockade”, the chancellor said.
The executive added that the hostile policy imposed by the United States towards Cuba since February 7th, 1962, is widely rejected internationally.
Last year, 191 countries, members of the United Nations, supported the Island’s report to the General Assembly about the necessity to end the blockade.
