Brasilia_ The warning strike called by the Single Federation of Oil Workers (FUP) of Brazil started today, although the Superior Labor Court declared the stoppage illegal for considering that it has political objectives, Prensa Latina reports.
'Labor justice is acting like capital justice. That is the role that it has played over the past few years,' said FUP General Coordinator Jose Maria Rangel, who noted that the trade union will not be intimidated and the strike will continue as planned.
Referring to the decision to consider it a political strike, the union leader recalled that the members of that court were appointed as a result of a political decision and that the objective of labor justice, imposed by the coup (perpetrated in 2016 against Constitutional President Dilma Rousseff) is also a political decision.
'The fact that Pedro Parente is destroying Petrobras is a political decision,' noted Rangel, quoted by the digital daily Brasil 247.
The strike that started today will last 72 hours and will demand the reduction in prices of all fuels, an end to the privatization of Petrobras and the immediate resignation of Parente, who was appointed president of the oil company in July 2016 by President Michel Temer.
