Tokio_ John Kerry, US Secretary of State, began the negotiations with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (RPDC) on the nuclear issue, the digital site of Prensa Latina publishes.

According to what Kerry expressed at the closing of a meeting of the foreign ministers of the seven most industrialized capitalist nations in Hiroshima, Japan, the resumption of talks with the RPDC depends on the willingness of the latter.

Pyongyang's nuclear program was one of the main issues on the agenda of the foreign ministers of the United States, France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada and Japan.

"Everything depends on the willingness of North Korea at the starting of the talks and we continue working in that direction," Kerry said.

The US official stressed the importance of the role of China, one of the main allies of Pyongyang, to restart the six-party dialogue.

Pyongyang claims that its nuclear weapons program constitutes a deterrent to the frequent threats of invasion by Washington and Seoul.

The North Korean government also reiterated that to restart the talks there cannot be a precondition, but Japan, South Korea and the United States reject that and argue about Pyongyang, who must first take concrete steps toward denuclearization.
