Caracas_ With the activation of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria, the Government of Venezuela today seeks to ensure the welfare of its citizens and dismantle the media campaign aimed at using migration as a political weapon against this country, Prensa Latina reports.

President Nicolás Maduro ordered this week the activation of an airlift for the return of Venezuelans who wish to return to their native soil through an initiative that seeks to defend migrants from acts of xenophobia and discrimination in other South American nations, according to government sources.

In the early hours of Thursday, a plane arrived with 92 nationals on board - 27 of them children - from Ecuador, as part of a program that had allowed 89 people to reenter from Peru and more than 1,200 through the border with Brazil.

Also, it is expected that another group of emigrants will arrive tomorrow from Peruvian territory, while next Monday a flight will depart for Argentina in search of more Venezuelans who left for that southern nation with the aim of achieving an exit to economic difficulties.

Testimonies provided by some of the beneficiaries of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria attest to the humiliations and hardships suffered by these people, who, according to the Caracas authorities, are victims of the media campaign orchestrated against the nation.

In statements offered to the local press after returning from Peru, the Venezuelan Anys Durán said that she emigrated to Peru in search of better opportunities, but only found an exploitation scenario with working hours of between 18 and 20 hours with wages lower than agreed. .

Victim of discriminatory acts and forced to work long hours to survive, despite her pregnant status, Durán was part of the group of 89 citizens repatriated to Venezuela on August 28 thanks to the management of the Bolivarian Government.

Similar situation was found by many of the Venezuelans who emigrated to Ecuador, who decided to accept the invitation of the Government of Nicolás Maduro when their expectations of economic and financial improvement failed.

Before taking the plane that would return to Venezuela on Thursday, the young Victor Romero said he sought the help of the Bolivarian authorities to lack the means to repatriate on their own.

Likewise, he expressed confidence that the country will reverse the complicated economic scenario - product of external sanctions and destabilizing actions promoted by oligarchic sectors -, the main cause of an increase in the migratory flow from this South American nation to neighboring territories.

An article published in the digital portal Misión Verdad ensured that the use of Venezuelan emigration as a political artifact and the systematic violation of the human rights of these people in the receiving states, motivated the implementation of the Plan Vuelta a la Patria by the Bolivarian authorities.

With this measure, the source confirmed, the State reaffirms its commitment to assist Venezuelans affected by situations of vulnerability and fragility resulting from trafficking and labor exploitation networks that operate fully in many of the countries in the area.

This initiative seeks the reintegration of returnees into the productive life and social care plans, in addition to reversing the opinion matrix that places the Executive as responsible for this migratory flow, in order to build a failed state image to promote a humanitarian intervention

Venezuelan journalist Victoria Korn of the Latin American Center for Strategic Analysis pointed out that thousands of nationals stranded in other South American countries want to benefit from the government's repatriation project, for which Venezuela requested the support of those states to provide facilities for the return of their fellow citizens.

The expert said that multilateral organizations such as the United Nations Agency for Refugees (UNHCR) and the World Organization for Migration (IOM) released reports that "derail the agenda of the story of the humanitarian crisis."

In June, the UNHCR reflected that only five thousand 661 Venezuelans (less than one percent of the population of this country) were recognized with refugee status by the authorities of the main receiving nations of the region, the analyst recalled.

He said that the total number of emigrants from Venezuela, initially estimated between 1.5 million and 2.3 million people, could be lower, according to these reports from multilateral organizations, when denouncing "an evident manipulation with respect to the figures to justify a scenario of international intervention. '

In contrast, government sources claim that around six million 500,000 immigrants - only among Colombians, Peruvians and Ecuadorians - reside in Venezuelan territory and benefit from the social programs promoted by the Bolivarian Executive.
