Bogotá_ The National Coordinator of Coca, Marijuana and Poppy Growers of Colombia (Coccam) denounced today the murder of a social leader and his two sons in the department of Cauca, Prensa Latina reports.

Gunmen tortured and later murdered social leader Jaime Rivera and his sons Reinel Rivera and Jeisson Rivera in a community of Bolívar municipality of the aforementioned department located in the southwest of the country, according to information provided by Coccam.

The victims were recognized as leaders in the process of replacing illicit crops in Cauca, as well as being advocates for the implementation of the Peace Agreement.

The Coccam denounced that so far this year they have murdered 23 social leaders in that area of the country.
