Washington_ Senator Joe Manchin, a newly re-elected Democrat from West Virginia, warned that the dismissal of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and his replacement by another acting loyal to President Donald Trump, puts the country on the verge of a constitutional crisis.

As published by Radio Habana Cuba, in an interview in the CBS’ television show This Morning, Manchin said it is a big mistake to let Jeff Sessions go, who is a good person, committed to the rule of law.

Manchin expressed concern about the future of the Justice Department's investigation into the alleged collusion of Trump's election campaign in 2016 with Russia.

Sessions, who was one of Trump's most loyal supporters in Congress early on, admitted that he had met with the Russian Ambassador at the time and that the President considered it a betrayal. The governor considers that the investigation carried out by special prosecutor Robert Mueller is a witch hunt.

Democrats complain about the promptness of Trump to install in the Justice Department a person loyal to him, immediately after that party gained control of the House of Representatives.

The presidential decision to dismiss Jeff Sessions, to whom he asked for the resignation, comes after the promise of a group of Democrat legislators in the White House to continue the investigations and already asked the administration to preserve the documents related to Mueller's investigation.
