Mexico City_ The government of Mexico, the private business sector and the next administration headed by President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador, evaluated as a whole the assistance to Central American immigrants in that country.

The Business Coordinating Council called the meeting to assess proposals for the benefit of migrants to safeguard, in the first place, their integrity and offer employment opportunities once they regularize their immigration status, Radio Reloj publishes.

The Ministry of the Interior informed that through the National Institute of Migration 3230 refugee applications have been attended, and that more than 500 people asked for assisted voluntary return to their country of origin.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Security Commission, the Federal Police and the National Institute of Migration.
