Brasilia_ Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva told his Uruguayan counterpart Jose Mujica that before the backward risks threatening the country "we will resist", Radio Havana Cuba reported.
During a meeting in this capital, both former dignitaries addressed issues related to the legal and parliamentary coup in progress, on which "Pepe" Mujica said he was very worried.
This is a delicate situation for all Latin America, as Brazil is a strategically important country and its democracy is being threatened, quoted Lula citing the former Uruguayan president.
The founder of the Workers Party (PT) of Brazil said that the time is of combat and resistance and he hoped democracy will prevail.
Lula recalled his participation in the struggle against the dictatorship, the trikes for the workers' rights and the battle carried out for the right to vote.
Now, the 70 years politician is facing another possible risk of a setback, but he told Mujica the Brazilians will resist.
