La Paz_ President Evo Morales, denounced Chile to attack Bolivia because of the installation of a military base in the community of Cariquima, an illegal action according to international conventions, the digital site of Granma newspaper publishes.

Morales said that according to the international conventions the military bases can be installed, but 50 kilometers from the border area.

"When Bolivia calls for justice before the international tribunals, referring to the maritime lawsuit filed in the International Justice Court, the answer is pride and the threat," said the head of state who recalled "we no longer live invasion times but of integration ".

Héctor Arce, General State Attorney of the Pluri national state, called as a threat and an alert message the installation of the military base.

"This action coincides with statements of former authorities of Chile, who said that the armed forces of that country are prepared to defend the international treaties," Arce argued.

According to international agreements, military bases must be installed at least 50 kilometers from the borders of another country, in this case was located just 15 kilometers.

"We have to wait for an explanation, but if Chile thinks to frighten us, they are wrong," the general attorney said.
