Hiroshima, Japan_ Cuban First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel visited the Atomic Bomb Museum along with Deputy Foreign Minister, Rogelio Sierra, Cuba's ambassador to Japan, Marcos Rodriguez Costa, and other members of his accompanying delegation, Radio Reloj publishes.
After listening to the explanations and seeing the photos and the remains of the belongings of the victims of the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945, Diaz-Canel said that event is part of a history that humankind must never forget.
He expressed the Cuban government's staunch determination to continue fighting for peace and to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons.
As part of the visit to the museum, the Cuban vice president was received by Emiko Okada, a 79 years old woman, survivor of that brutal action of the North American Army.
Diaz-Canel signed a book of condolences and dedicated his words to "a people who were capable of surviving and rebuilding and who left a legacy of dignity that humankind must never forget."
