Iran: The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) agreed in Tehran to continue to make efforts to strengthen security in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, local media reported on Wednesday, Prensa Latina publishes.

During a meeting held on Tuesday between the commander of Iran's Border Police, Brigadier General Qassem Rezaei, and the UAE Coastguard commander, Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Mesbah Al-Ahbabi, they agreed to strengthen diplomatic relations.

The senior military officers noted the need to expand bilateral diplomatic dialogue, IRNA news agency reported.

Referring to the safety of the aforementioned maritime regions, Rezaei stressed the refusal to allow other countries to damage regional security, and 'we must face disturbances and selfish activities.'

In that regard, the Emirati brigadier general highlighted its nation's commitment to be at the forefront of the regional efforts to fight drug trafficking.

Finally, the Iranian brigadier general praised the good relations in different fields between the two countries.
