Ecuador: The National Assembly of Ecuador declared inadmissible the request made by a judge to authorize the criminal trial against former president Rafael Correa (2007-2017) and his former vice president Jorge Glas, Prensa Latina publishes.
Local media notes that during a session concluded last night, Assemblyman Franklin Samaniego said that "there are failures and violations of due process" in the Prosecutor's Office and in the Judicial Council.
Other parliamentarians also pointed out incongruities in this process and then the parliament with 78 votes decided to declare Judge Daniella Camacho's request as inadmissible.
In the case of Bribes 2012-2016, in which it seeks to involve both political figures, alleged contributions to electoral campaigns by companies and individuals to the PAIS Alliance movement are investigated during the period from November 2013 to February 2014 .
For the Assemblyman of the Bank of the Citizen Revolution Ronny Aleaga, former President Correa and Glas 'are persecuted politicians of the regime of (Lenin) Moreno' and the Assembly wants to link them to the case and put together a new media show.
Ecuadorian justice cannot lend itself to persecutory proceedings, added Jota Lloret to assemblyman.
