Brasilia: The defense of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva denounced that new messages released today reinforce that the former president is victim of a conspiracy of public agents to condemn him, remove him from public life and damage his honor and reputation, Cubasí publishes.

In a note signed by lawyers Cristiano and Valeska Zanin Martins and published on the Workers' Party page, they make reference to leaks from the Intercept digital site and the Folha de Sao de Paulo newspaper.

According to the defense, “the messages are directly related to the two clearly corrupt processes originated in the 13 federal court of Curitiba and in which unfair sentences were imposed on Lula, one of which was used to deprive him of his freedom through early execution of the sentence, incompatible with the Federal Constitution”.

The jurists also point out that the former labor leader was sanctioned to remove him from the 2018 presidential elections, even after obtaining two preliminary decisions of the UN Human Rights Committee in 2018 so that he could attend until he was assured of a fair trial.

The statement says that "the messages published on June 12 by The Intercept show that the investigations against Lula and people related to the former president were initiated by a command issued by former Sérgio Moro to prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol."

For the defense, Lula was convicted and imprisoned even after Moro acknowledged that no value of the construction company Petrobras was directed to the ex-president and he never requested or received possession or property of the triplex apartment in Sao Paulo or any other property attributed to him by the justice system.
