Pyongyang: The Democratic Korean Government said Thursday that it has no interest in resuming dialogues with the United States (USA), unless Washington stops its "hostile military activities," Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

The last time both countries held talks was last February, when North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met with US President Donald Trump at the summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, which concluded without agreements, Telesur recalls.

Kim and Trump had a brief meeting last June in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between the two Koreas, where they agreed to resume talks.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea announced Thursday that his government maintains the position "to resolve all issues peacefully, through dialogue and negotiation."

However, "the dialogue accompanied by military threats does not interest us," the spokesperson said in a statement released by the KCNA news agency.

He said the recent proof that the US He made a medium-range cruise missile and his project to deploy F-35 fighters in the region are "dangerous" actions that can "trigger a new cold war."

North Korea conducted a series of short-range missile tests this August in protest against joint annual military exercises between South Korea and the United States.
