Venezuela: Venezuelan Minister Manuel Quevedo accused part of the Venezuelan right of an attempted sabotage against public services for the fire suffered on Saturday by the Apacuana domestic gas filling plant, located in Ocumare del Tuy, in the state of Miranda, northern Venezuela, Cubadebate publishes.

"We want to denounce the extreme violent terrorist right behind the acts of sabotage that are intended to alter citizen peace and disrupt public services," Quevedo said during his remarks.

The Minister for Petroleum, who also serves as president of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) explained that the fire, the result of an explosion in the landfill, led to the suspension of the electric service in the Tomás Lander municipality of Miranda state.

Given the situation, Quevedo said that two attorneys from the Public Prosecutor's Office were appointed to initiate investigations of terrorist acts.

"The terrorist plans of the imperial right against public services will find the repudiation and categorical rejection of the Venezuelan people: United we will defend our country from those who seek their destruction and assault the population!”.

The action left significant material losses in the infrastructure, but there were no casualties or injuries.

The attack on the gas installation sought to alter citizen peace and affect supply in the Mirandina region.

Last Friday another sabotage action in the high-voltage wiring of the Caracas Metro system affected the population of the Venezuelan capital.

"They attack the National Electric System to leave our people without electricity, without transport, without water but the Bolivarian Revolution works together with the people carrying food, medicine, well-being", Vice President Rodriguez said.
