Caracas: The Venezuelan Government maintains its readiness today to restart the dialogue with the opposition, after resuming contacts with Norway, President Nicolás Maduro said.

After the freezing of the negotiations in protest against the executive order imposed by the United States (USA) against the South American nation, the Venezuelan head of state expressed his confidence that good news of the process of talks will be given in the next few days, Prensa Latina publishes.

"I can report that contacts have been resumed with the Norwegian Government and with the Venezuelan opposition delegates, after several meetings”, the president said in an interview with the Xinhua news agency, broadcast by local media.

With the support of Norway, the governments of the world and the Venezuelan people "the first approach talks have been established," Maduro said.

The governor of the state of Miranda, Héctor Rodríguez, representative of the Executive in the dialogues with the opposition, affirmed in a recent address that the Bolivarian Government maintains its readiness to discuss any political proposal in respect to the Constitution.

"We are aware and support the democratic way as the only route to address the conflict," said Rodriguez, who also felt that the right should reflect and focus on the political rationality to build peace in Venezuela.

Maduro had previously ruled out the possibility of dialogue with opposition groups subject to Washington's hostile policy against the South American nation.

The Venezuelan president repudiated the delivery position of those sectors that 'went out to celebrate', following the order of the Trump administration to establish a total blockade of Venezuelan assets and those in US territory; "Under these conditions there can be no dialogue," he said.
