La Paz: President Evo Morales denounced today that a coup d'etat is underway in Bolivia, Prensa Latina publishes.

In statements to the press from the Casa Grande del Pueblo, current headquarters of the Executive, the president called on social organizations to organize, prepare to defend democracy.

He asked the international organizations, peace activists and the institutions to join this fight.

We are not in colonial times, we are in times of monarchies that always want to appoint representatives of interests, Morales said.

The true democracy is participatory and does not end on Election Day, he said.

He finally summoned to continue building peace with social participation.
