La Paz: The annulment of the general elections is today a coup d'état orchestrated by the opposition that does not accept its defeat in the elections, said the president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, Prensa Latina publishes.
The president said that ignoring the votes means ignoring the vote of the people so he asked the opposition viable proposals framed in the Political Constitution of the State.
"In Bolivia the Constitution is respected and there is no article that says that the elections are annulled," he said in response to the determination of the National Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade).
The Organization of American States (OAS) began the day before a comprehensive audit of the elections, which will last at least two weeks, to make the process even more transparent and rule out allegations of alleged fraud.
The candidate of Community Citizen (CC), Carlos Mesa, loser of the elections, first asked for a second round, without waiting for the official vote count, then requested an international audit for suspected fraud and now urges to ignore the results of the vote.
The annulment means that the election of all elected assemblies 'is of no use (...) to annul is to ignore that vote,' he said.
"I do not know where they invent, based on what rule they launch to annul the elections, now if it is as in the dictatorship, it is another issue for the people to reflect," Morales said.
The binomial of the Al Socialismo Movement came out on Sunday October 20 with 47.8 percent of the vote and obtained a difference of 10.57 points compared to Mesa, who rejects the results and leads racist and violent mobilizations in some cities of the country along with civic and political allies.
