La Paz: The siege around the embassies of Venezuela and Cuba in La Paz by extreme opponents to the government of President Evo Morales was denounced on Sunday by those diplomatic missions.

Venezuelan Ambassador to Bolivia Crisbeylee Gonzalez warned about attacks on her embassy by opposition sectors.

'We are fine, but they occupied the embassy, they want to make a massacre with us. Please, I need this to be denounced,' the diplomat said.

Meanwhile, sources from the Cuban embassy charged that offensive and provoking signs had been posted on the mission's fence.

Recently, the Human Rights Committee of the House of Deputies of Bolivia 'strongly' condemned the harassment by opposition groups against the embassies of Cuba and Venezuela, as part of a plan against the government.

The former president Morales, accompanied by his vice president Álvaro García Linera, announced the resignation of his charges to pacify the country against the violence imposed by the political opposition that ignored the results of the elections of last October 20.

The indigenous ex-president had denounced on numerous occasions the coup d'etat that was led by right-wing leaders Carlos Mesa, presidential candidate of the Citizen Community (CC), and the head of the Santa Cruz Civic Committee, Luis Fernando Camacho.

For his part, the Foreign Minister of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrad, issued a tweet in which he requested respect for the integrity of the embassy and residence headquarters of that nation in Bolivia.

The Mexican official spoke about it after the Government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced his intention to grant asylum to former Morales.
