Washington_ The US Senate will vote today a bill promoted by the Democratic caucus, which would prohibit persons suspected to be linked with terrorist actions the access to firearms, Cubasí published.

Sponsored by Senator Chris Murphy, democrat senator for Connecticut, the proposal is based on the alarming numbers of deaths by firearms and preventable massacres by a tougher legislation.

According to the organization Gun Violence Archive, 13 thousand 429 people died as a result of firearms during 2015 while in 2016, the number of death reported for the same cause, reached the number of 5,962 deaths.

According to statistics, including suicides, about 30 thousand citizens died in the United States every year due to shots.

Last Saturday, US President Barack Obama called for a reform of the law which regulate the use of firearms, and make it more difficult for murderers to access to assault rifles.

In his regular weekly address to the nation, Obama called to be tougher on terrorism, especially with what happened in Orlando and San Bernardino, referring to the recent killings in those US cities.

"We must work to make it harder for people who want to kill their fellow citizens have access to assault weapons, that alone will result in the deaths of dozens of innocent people," the US president said.

In the gun control proposals there is not included a ban on their sale, the discussions will only be focused on restricting the options for persons suspected of terrorist activities and extending the verification of criminal antecedents.
