Santiago de Chile: As a result of its excessive use against the social movement since October 18, Chilean police forces today have practically exhausted the tear gas pumps and bought new quantities in Brazil, Prensa Latina publishes.

According to the newspaper La Tercera, the police forces are instructed to use them 'effectively to achieve the desired objective, dissolve non-peaceful demonstrations and gradually as a protocol on the use of force'.

He adds that the Logistics Department of the institution decided to limit the use of tear pumps.

In recent weeks, the complaints of people seriously injured by the direct impact of tear gas bombs also multiplied.

The most unfortunate case is that of Francisca Campillai, 36, who was hit in the face by a tear gas pump and this caused her to lose sight in both eyes.

The assault on the woman occurred when she was waiting for a bus to go to the night shift at her workplace. She was not participating in any demonstration and was assaulted by the police.
