La Paz_ Bolivia exhibits the lowest unemployment rate in South America with a 3.5 percent, thanks to the development plans promoted for a decade by Evo Morales’ government, Radio Reloj publishes.

The Bolivian Ministry of Economy points out that in 2005, prior to the start of the first term of government of this head of state, the Andean nation had an unemployment.rate of over eight percent

He adds that due to the sustained growth in the last decade and the high levels of public investment, business creation and implementation of programs to provide employment, the extreme poverty has also decreased in more than a half.

Likewise, the Bolivian Economy Minister Luis Arce, confirmed that the economy grew in about five percent in the first quarter of the year, even with the current international context marked by the fall in oil prices and the main raw materials.
