Ankara_ The Turkish government suspended a total of 7,850 police members, including high standing officers, as part of the campaign against the alleged conspirators of the failed coup, which left 290 dead, Radio Havana Cuba publishes.

According to the Hurriyet Daily News, the police removed were summoned to provincial police stations and their weapons and IDs were withdrawn.

According to local authorities, a hundred conspirators are included among those killed after the coup attempt last Friday.

More than six thousand suspects in the Army and the Judiciary, including senior commanders and judges of the Supreme Court, were arrested following the events.

"We have started to clean the system," said Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim, who added that they have already suspended more than 10,000 officials from different ministries.

"These numbers will change the prime minister told reporters in the presence of his cabinet.
