Port Príncipe_ The Committee of Ethics and Anti-corruption of the Senate summoned the Haitian former presidente Michel Martelly to declare because his name appears involved in a scandal related with the funds of Petrocaribe and the handlings of companies of the Dominican Republic, Prensa Latina publishes.

The citation was formulated by the head of the Senate, Ronald Larache who requested him useful information for the progress of the investigation of a commission presided over by Youri Latortue.

According to the senator Latortue the signature Adom Dominicana paid 800 thousand dollars to the ex-president and there exist countable documents that demonstrate therefore the Senate wants to check if the former head of State received bribes for contracts with building companies from the Dominican Republic.

Last week José García, representative of the Adom and ROFI companies, refused to accept any kind of bribes to Haitian officials but there are also other personalities implied in the investigation on the topic and the management of the funds of Petrocaribe.

For five months the Commission of Ethics and Anticorrupción has been investigating accusations of bad management of the funds of Petrocaribe under the administration of René Preval and Michel Martelly.

Latortue denounced the nonfulfillment of the legal procedures in the signature of numerous contracts with companies of the Dominican Republic, included Adom and Rofi, belonging to the senator Félix Baptist, treasurer of the official Party of the Dominican Liberation.
