Geneva_ UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, expressed his interest in visiting Venezuela in July this year, to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM by its Spanish initials) Summit, Prensa Latina reports.

During a meeting in this Swiss city with Jorge Valero, Venezuela's permanent representative to UN in Geneva, he stressed that the visit would be an opportunity to talk with President Nicolás Maduro and other heads of state attending the event.

The South American country will assume the presidency of this important group at that summit.

Ban, who is in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum that starts today in Davos, also congratulated the Venezuela government for its re-election to the Human Rights Council of the UN.
