Bogota_ Hundreds of thousands of Colombians took to the streets to show their support to a political solution that guarantee peace demand the peace accord achieved by the Government and FARC-EP, Granma newspaper published.
The march started at the Distrital Planetary throw all 7th avenue and the participants walk more than a kilometer in silence carrying torches, candles and white flags.
After intoning the National Anthem in Bolívar Square, where the main public buildings are located, more than 30 thousand demonstrators began to shout: “we want the peace and to achieve it we are not to give a step behind."
Former senator Piedad Cordoba was among the multitude. The Human Rights activist said that to take the streets was the best option in the current situation of the country. The peace is no one’s private property, but a matter of all the Colombians.
Other 14 cities of the country also registered manifestations in favor of the peace. The main meetings took place in Barranquilla, Cali, Cartagena, Quibdó, Bucaramanga, Santa Marta, Manizales, Cúcuta, Neiva, San José of Guaviare, Arauca, Villavicencio and Pasto.
The popular support showed this Wednesday to a political exit following Sunday’s "No" win in the peace plebiscite coincides with an important meeting among president Juan Manuel Santos and the senator of the Democratic Center, Álvaro Uribe.
