Quito_ The peace process in Colombia and the electoral situation in Haiti will be part of the agenda of the IV Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC by its Spanish initials), to be held in Ecuador on Wednesday, Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño informed today to the media.
According to Prensa Latina, the head of the Ecuadorian diplomacy revealed that the Colombian government requested that the progress of the negotiations initiated in 2012 with the guerrillas is treated during the regional meeting.
Patino said that also the Haitian government is interested in the analysis of the situation in that Caribbean Island after the suspension of the second electoral round scheduled for yesterday, during in the meeting of the heads of the 33 member countries of the integration block.
According to the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, the Haitian government wants CELAC to issue a statement of support for democracy in that country.

The Fourth Summit of the bloc founded in 2010 will be held on January 27 at the headquarters of the Union of South American Nations, located in the so-called Middle of the World City, about 15 kilometers north of Quito.
During the meeting, President Rafael Correa will deliver the presidency pro tempore of CELAC to his Dominican counterpart, Danilo Medina.
